About Me

In 7th grade, when I first wrote a Pascal program to calculate the Pythagorean theorem for triangles, I knew I would be working in computer science for the rest of my life. That moment of seeing code transform mathematical concepts into working solutions sparked a passion that has only grown stronger over the years.

While coding is my profession and passion, I find balance and inspiration in the great outdoors. I'm an avid mountaineer who loves exploring challenging peaks and discovering new trails. The mountains have taught me patience, problem-solving under pressure, and the importance of careful planning—skills that translate perfectly to software development.

My adventures extend underground as well through speleology. There's something fascinating about mapping unexplored cave systems and navigating complex underground networks. The methodical approach required for safe caving mirrors the systematic thinking I apply to debugging complex codebases.

As a member of the mountain rescue service, I've learned the critical importance of reliable systems and clear communication when lives are on the line. This experience has shaped my approach to writing robust, well-documented code that others can depend on.

Whether I'm scaling a mountain face, exploring a cave system, or crafting clean code, I'm driven by the same core motivation: the challenge of solving complex problems and the satisfaction of finding elegant solutions. These outdoor pursuits keep me grounded, focused, and remind me that the best solutions—whether in nature or in code—are often the simplest ones.
